So our Club President, Anthony O'Hara has decided to sleep under a cardboard box. This winter Anthony is spending one of the longest, coldest winter nights on the streets to help raise money for people experiencing homelessness. Homelessness can affect anyone - women, men, and children. It has devastating consequences for individuals and families. But you can help!
Support Anthony during the Vinnies CEO Sleepout and your donation will help the St Vincent de Paul Society empower more people to get off the streets and into stable accommodation. Vinnies provides counselling, education, health and employment services to help people to lift themselves out of the cycle of poverty.
Every donation is meaningful. Just fifty dollars can provide a whole family with a warm, nutritious meal this winter. Together we can combat homelessness in our community. Please help me raise funds today! The impact of your generosity will be felt well beyond the 21st of June.
Thank you for your support - it is truly appreciated.Read more...
The Canberra CareersXpo is an annual event conducted in August each year by the Rotary Club of Canberra City in partnership with the ACT Education Directorate. This year the event falls on the 15 and 16 August 2018.
The Canberra CareersXpo has been operating for nearly 40 years and has grown in popularity. In 2017, the two-day event attracted some 8700 visitors and 100 local, national and international exhibitors. This will be our seventh year at Exhibition Park. The larger venue enables everyone to be under one roof in a warm and comfortable environment.
The CareersXpo seeks to provide valuable career guidance and advice on career opportunities available to secondary students throughout the ACT and surrounding NSW schools network.
This CareersXpo is the largest event of its type in the region with over 100 local and national exhibitors, including universities, colleges, and career placement organisations providing a wide range of information.
The Expo will once again showcase a wide range of career pathways that appeal to a diverse population in order to provide a valuable experience for all relevant stakeholders.
Students, parents, teachers, careers advisors and career changers are encouraged to come along and explore, ask questions and gather as much information as possible.
Exhibitors from the Canberra Institute of Technology, the Australian National University, the University of Canberra, as well as other educational providers, training institutions and employers will provide useful and relevant information in an interactive and interesting way.
The Rotary Club of Canberra City is proud to present this vocational and community service program.Read more...
